Beaches:                   The beaches of El Ejido have been awarded the Blue Flag by the European Union ever since this scheme was conceived to recognise environmental quality and a high level of facilities. There are beaches that surround the town that span 3.5 kilometres and are 100 metres wide. They offer full facilities: showers, toilets, rubbish bins and a thorough cleaning service.

Golf:                        The 27-holel Almerimar Golf Club designed by Gary Player, is known for its excellent landscape and high quality course. In addition, there is a complete network of golf courses within a 30 minute drive in the province of Almeria (La Envia, Playa Serena and Alboran) to satisfy the most demanding and varied tastes. www.greenfeesdirect.com/

Markets:            There are many markets within driving distance of Almerimar. Most of them start around 10am and finish by 2pm. The markets are open every week except for the last Sunday, Weds, Thurs of each month. 

Sunday - Vicar (the largest market) - take the motorway towards Almeria and turn off at Vicar. Head into the village, the market is easy to find as some of the stalls are near to the road as you drive in.

Wednesday - El Ejido - drive out of Almerimar and go over the motorway and follow signs to El Ejido.

Thursday - Roquetas de Mar - take the motorway towards Almeria and turn off at the Roquetas junction.

Cinemas:                 There are cinemas at the Copo Centre, Almerimar and Gran Plaza, Rocquetes De Mar.

Water Sports:             The Almerimar Marina is one of the biggest in Andalucia, with over 1,000 moorings. In addition to offering the most complete and modern services, such as a Sailing School, a large part of the local social life is centred around the Marina. The Almerimar lake offers canoeing and windsurfing.

Diving:                                The Almeria coast is known the world over as a true treasure for practicing diving. In addition, Almerimar has a Diving Club in the Marina.

The Punta Entinas National Park: is a true natural treasure, boasting a very special and exclusive beauty. It is made up of three very different landscapes: beach, salt plains and lagoon. It stands out for its special beauty and the variety of bird species that live and roam there: Cinnamon Teal Ducks, Red Shoveler Ducks, storks, mallards, pink flamingos and a rich variety of other species. In addition to the rich flora and fauna that can be found in the park, it also offers numerous other attractions (fishing, underwater archaeology, inexhaustible photographic opportunities and walking paths).
